So. Number One on my list has been writing and editing (or procrastinating on the two). I've got "The Night Phoenix" finished--all 213 pages of it. Believe me, if you've ever tried editing something that length or even longer, it's hard. It's even harder when you're easily distracted, and easily drawn into daydreams, and a natural procrastinator. Oh, and the fact that my characters are my best friends doesn't help much when I have to delete dialogue or something. They make me feel guilty...XP
Besides "The Night Phoenix", I'm also working hard on rewriting "Leaves of Silver: Book One". My inner critic is telling me that the rewrite is horrible and I should just give it up...I'm not going to listen to him. After all, who would be dimwitted enough to listen to Gollum (uh, besides Frodo and several others...)?
Then, lessee...I have several plots for various novels whirling in my head. And I want to research and write a short story on the landing of the ANZACS on Gallipoli.
Number Two on my list has been schoolwork. Mostly the dreaded Algebra and Science. I just can't seem to grasp either of those two subjects!!! Do you know what grade I got on my last test? An F. And I don't usually get F's, even on Algebra!
Yeah...I think I'm going to need some help if I ever want to get into college...
Number Three has been getting ready for college. Mom wants me to read all these certain books, stuff like, "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea" and "Robinson Crusoe" and nonfiction stuff. I don't really like "22,000 Leagues Under the Sea" much, but I have to finish it. I haven't tried "Robinson Crusoe" yet. And I've been getting books that I want to try that are classics, which makes me feel a little better about it. Stuff like "The Hunt For Red October" and "The Hobbit" and trying to finish "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
I also have to do stuff for Art and P.E. It's not very boring; it's more like hard to figure out. I like to sketch and draw, but I'm not good at it, and therefore run out of energy quickly. I DO like to create scrapbooks of stuff. So now I have a scrapbook full of Indiana Jones and Han Solo pictures, and a scrapbook full of random pictures of actors, settings, and animals.
But Mom says that's not enough. So now I've taken up photography, and I'm going to make a compilation of all of the photographs that I take. I'm actually looking forward to that.
And for P.E...well, I think all I can do is swordfighting, bike riding, running, and treadmill-walking. And pray and hope that my mom will find some way to get horse riding into my schedule.
Aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnd.....that's about it. So now you know why I've been so infrequent with my blog posts (and there's the fact that I've been really depressed and with low self-esteem...but that's something I'd rather not go into).
'Till next time.
