Have you ever wondered where that hamburger you had for lunch came from? Or how the sausage you ate at breakfast was made? Or even where your fancy leather shoes came from?
No matter what other people tell you, it isn't pretty. It's cruel, heartless, and--there's no other word for it--evil.
I'm in no position to tell you every little detail, but I can tell you some of how they treat the animals.
The slaughterhouses--ugly word, isn't it?--have some of the most barbaric ways of killing the animals. Some of these 'death techniques' include:
--Slitting the animal's throat and letting them bleed to death.
--Driving a six-inch bolt into the skull of an animal and letting it bleed to death.
--Strangling them.
--Putting them into gas chambers and poisoning them.
Tell me this: would you do this to your pet? Would you do this to a human being? Most likely your answer is 'No!'.
So, why do the slaughterhouses do it? Simple. All they care about is the money. They have no hearts.
Animals have feelings and emotions too, right down to the fish in the seas: studies have proved it.
Not only do they use cruel methods to kill the animals, but the animals are treated horribly, too.
They're put into living conditions too small for them; they barely have room to breathe, let alone move around.
Some animals, such as pigs and chickens, even turn to canibbalism. There are reports of pigs eating each other's tails, and chickens eating their own eggs, and even their young. Cows from India (ones that are used for leather) are sent on death marches out of India so that the people capturing them don't get in trouble for killing cows.
Do the living conditions and such of the animals remind of you a certain event in history?
I'm reminded of Hitler, and what he did to the Jews.
Not only that, but the meat you get from these animals is bad for you. You run a high risk of getting E.Coli disease for one.
I have to say the only thing you can do is to stop eating meat. Or, at the very least, only eat organic meat.

I know that a lot of you probably didn't even read to the end of this, and that a lot of you didn't want to hear it.
I don't care if you flame me or bash me; this information needs to get out there.

This reminded me of a video that one of my vegetarian friends sent me. It's called
ReplyDeleteIf slaughterhouses had glass walls we'd all be vegetarians.
