My apologies. I know I haven't been on lately. Y'see, I've been super busy working on my new fantasy novel.
As a matter of fact, I finished it.
The very first fantasy novel I ever finished. I've started dozens; this is the first one I actually got to the end of.
And wouldn'tcha know: I have vivid ideas for three sequels! I guess my muse finally came back from that vacation he was taking in Germany! Or was it the Caribbean...hmm...
Anyhow! That's one of the few things I've been working on; I'll let you know a bit more in another blog post.
Other things I've been doing include talking with Ingvar (special points to anyone who guesses who he is...the name oughta tip you right off), school, and intense character development!
Today, I decided to get going with a plan I had: I've always wanted a character named Viggo.
Before you go off talking about how I can't use that 'cause there's an actor named Viggo Mortensen, let me tell you: it's a name, and not copyrighted by anyone. I say this, because I used to think I couldn't use it because a famous actor already had the name.
Anyway, today I finally decided to finish up a bit more development on that character. I just finished reading a book called The Candy Shop War, by Brandon Mull. I wanted to make up a character similar to his John Dart.
So, I gave Viggo a last name--Steele. He has several last names he uses as aliases (Falcon, Phoenix, and Sterling are among the more-oft used), but he always keeps his first name the same.
Basically, he's Darian Steele's brother--and if you're on the NaNoWriMo site, you should probably be slightly acquainted with Darian.
Viggo is a lot different from his younger brother. Darian is a renegade and a mercenary, and has a slightly twisted moral compass; he'll kidnap, steal, or assassinate if he believes it's for the right thing.
Viggo, on the other hand, never does that stuff unless he's ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that it's for a good cause. Even then, he prefers to stay away from it.
Anyway, I'll stop boring you with THAT now...if you want to know more, most of you know where to find me!
I'll go get another post up and ready, now. *salutes*
